What is actually included
Cabinet refinishing is the highest-return job in this trade, and the easiest to do badly. Brushed-on wall paint over greasy oak will chip off the day someone's fingernail catches it. We do it the way a cabinet shop does: doors come off and go to the spray room, boxes get masked and sprayed on site, and every surface gets a bonding primer and a catalyzed finish that cures hard.
- All doors, drawer fronts and hardware removed, numbered and mapped
- Full degrease — the step that decides whether the finish sticks or peels
- Scuff sand every face, edge and profile by hand
- Bonding primer built for slick, previously-finished surfaces
- Two sprayed coats of cabinet-grade enamel that cures hard, not rubbery
- Boxes and face frames sprayed on site inside a sealed containment
- Hardware reinstalled, doors rehung, hinges adjusted and aligned

How your cabinets project runs
1. Free Walkthrough
We walk every room or every side of the house with you, measure, and talk through colors, sheens and problem areas. Usually 30–45 minutes.
2. Written Flat-Rate Quote
You get an itemized price in writing — surfaces, coats, brand and product line, and a start date. Not an hourly guess.
3. Prep Day
Furniture wrapped, floors covered, holes patched, caulk run, primer where it's needed. This is the day that decides how the job looks in five years.
4. Paint & Walkthrough
Two full coats, then we walk it together with a bright light before we pack up. Anything you flag gets fixed that day.
FAQ
Cabinet Painting & Refinishing questions
Can you paint oak cabinets without the grain showing?
Yes — but it takes a grain filler step before priming. Ask for it up front. Without it, you'll still see oak's open pores through the paint, which some people actually want.
How long is my kitchen out of commission?
Typically 4–6 days. You keep your countertops and sink the whole time; only the doors are gone.
Will it chip?
Not if it's prepped right. The failures you've heard about are almost always someone skipping the degrease or using regular wall paint. We use cabinet enamel, and we warranty it.
